We understand that every body is different. Not just our physical bodies, but also our emotional and energetic bodies. We have created a yoga program that is highly accessible, supportive, and non-judgmental. BoPo is a safe environment made just for your experience.

Our teachers for yoga in New Jersey are highly trained in the areas of Anxiety & Depression, Body Image & Emotional Eating, Trauma & PTSD, Loss & Grief, and Addiction & Recovery.

Our weekly classes are open to all. We believe that anyone can benefit from self-care and self-love. Our weekly classes are designed to support our specialized monthly classes and workshops, furthering the exploration of the individual experience. BoPo is a transformative place that puts the emphasis on positive growth, healing, and self-care. All are welcome!

Hatha Yoga
“Breath. Heart. Self.”

All Hatha Yoga classes are designed to support YOU on your journey.

As we move through breath and postural practices inspired by traditional Hatha yoga, we take time to pause and reflect on what is happening within the physical body and the emotional body. Props are offered and encouraged to remind ourselves that support and self-care are essential both on and off the mat. This transformative practice focuses highly on the individual experience, with emphasis on our uniqueness in body, breath, and heart.

Hatha Yoga is designed to be adaptable and accessible to all, whether just embarking on your yogic journey, or continuing.

Yin Yoga
“Be. Here. Now.”

Yin Yoga is a physical, meditative practice that is quiet in nature, but also deeply grounding both in body and mind. Focusing on long-held passive (floor) postures, Yin allows you to take more time to explore and “settle in” to both the external posture and internal revelations. Props are offered for safety and support, or the postures can be explored without. Yin is a truly healing practice that welcomes any-body. Yin reminds us to Be Here Now, so that we can always be our true selves.

Gentle Restorative Yoga
“Restore. Relax. Replenish.”

Gentle Restorative Yoga is a deeply calming practice that allows residual tension in the body to release in a soft and gentle way. Using gentle movement, mindful stretching and supportive poses, the body and nervous system are able to calm and relax. In this class, gentle breath is used as a guide to allow for deeper relaxation and restoration of the body, mind and spirit. Gentle Restorative Yoga is a beautiful addition to any yoga practice and is open to all.

Teen Yoga
“Empower. Energize. Create.”

Yoga empowers us and teaches us how to find our inner strength and beauty. Together, we explore and strengthen our mind-body connection through breathing, journaling, and flowing through engaging yoga postures, both challenging and restorative.

This class emphasizes self-love, confidence, the ability to cope with and overcome life’s challenges, and staying true to the essence of your being. Teens are taught how to energize their bodies and calm their minds, in a safe, non-judgmental space that will nourish a lifelong love of yoga!

Yoga for Addiction and Recovery
“Journey. Tend. Evolve.”

Integrating traditional yoga practices with the teachings of 12-Step Recovery, this class incorporates postural practice, breathwork, meditation, and the wisdom of the 12-Step recovery model as explored through a yogic lens.

At the heart of the 12-Step model is recovery and community, very similar to the teachings of yoga. In this nurturing practice, you are encouraged, supported, and in community on the journey back home to self.

Yoga for Stress and Anxiety
“Calm. Quiet. Nurture.”

Working with body, mind, and breath, yoga is a unique and highly effective tool that can guide us to find physical and emotional relief from stress and anxiety.

In this class, a variety of yogic traditions are used to tap into stored memories held deep within. The physical body, emotional body, and energetic body are addressed individually and as a whole. This practice works to release physical and emotional tension and discomfort.

We learn to recognize how and where we store stress and anxiety within so that we can begin to make the subtle shifts necessary to reconnect to our more peaceful and whole selves.

Yoga for Grief and Loss
“Reflect. Flow. Continue.”

As human beings, we will inevitably face different forms of loss and grief throughout our lifetime. In recognizing that grief is an important part of processing loss, we move through a yoga practice that supports the physical and emotional body through this emotionally vulnerable time.

Grief is a process that we all experience in different ways, but also a shared commonality in our human experience. This is respected, acknowledged, and supported within this space. Gentle movement, breath, and mantra lend heart-healing aspects to the practice as we continue down the path of finding peace.

Yoga for Positive Body Image
“Love. Respect. Appreciate.”

Consciously linking breath to movement allows you to foster a deep sense of presence. This in turn cultivates a mindfulness that allows you to be in the body.

With a greater sense of awareness and connection, comes a greater sense of control around the food choices we make. Emotional eating loses its grip as you learn to read your body and be with yourself, fully present, grounded, and empowered.

As you move through a class designed to bring breath, mind, and body together in a safe and supportive space, trust replaces doubt, acceptance replaces resistance, and the freedom you deserve begins to take hold.

BoPo Community Meditation
“Gather. Pause. Observe.”

Meditation is a key element to any yoga practice. Meditation practices can be simple, or complex, and varied in themes. Sometimes just sitting quietly is all that we need to calm our bodies, and quiet our minds. Here, we are given the opportunity to come together in a safe space, to collectively meditate and deepen our sense of community. Short, accessible breath exercises are used to prepare us for meditation.

All are welcome, whether you are a lifelong meditator, or just starting this essential practice. In meditation, we are reminded that we are all individuals experiencing our own journeys, but we are all together in our experience.

Group Sound Healing
“Attune. Release. Renew.”

The use of sound to find peace, meditate and reflect, is an age-old practice that has deep ties to ancient traditions. Quiet your mind and release old physical and energetic patterns with this Sound Healing Meditation using Himalayan Singing Bowls.

The use of Himalayan Singing Bowls, vibrationally attuned to each energy center, allows for healing pathways to open and stuck energy to be released. Find your inner calm and walk away feeling refreshed and renewed.

Why Choose BoPo Yoga?

At BoPo yoga, we take an individualized approach to the practice. Yoga is a deeply personal practice both physically and emotionally.

At BoPo, classes are designed to support your experience with yoga both on and off the mat. Modifications, props, and a deeply supportive, positive environment allow each individual to customize their own experience.

Postural, breath, and meditative practices are explored with a mindful and supportive approach.

We take the time to build the practice, to fully absorb all of the many benefits that yoga has to offer. Yoga teaches us to be in the present so that we can make room for positive growth and change.

Yoga in New Jersey: Teachers

amanda - yoga

Amanda Dhi, Director of Yoga Services

A little bit about me...I have been practicing yoga for over twenty years. What I practice and how I practice, has evolved many times over. More than anything, yoga has taught me to be adaptable to change. I am an RYT-500, having taken both of my 200 and 300hr teacher trainings at Yoga Synthesis. I have also trained and specialize in Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. My classes are based on the philosophy that the journey never ends, and that every day presents an opportunity for positive growth and change. I emphasize adaptability, accessibility, and acknowledge the individualistic experience of growing a yoga practice. Currently, I am studying to become certified in Yoga Therapy. My other life calling is being an End of Life Doula (EOL). Being a doula is a great honor, and I am forever humbled and grateful for the many lessons this role continues to teach me. I use my training and experience as a doula to teach Yoga and Meditation for Grief and Yoga and Meditation in Palliative Care. I believe that we are all put on this earth to help one another, to learn from each other, and to lift each other up. We all have good days and bad days. Our experiences are as unique as we are. Yoga has taught me that there is space for it all, for everyone. That even as we journey as individuals, we always journey together.

Adina Kelman

Yoga found me more than 10 years ago. A friend of mine dragged me to my first class. I was convinced it would be my first and last time on a yoga mat, but by the end of class, I was hooked. I hope to pass this passion on to each and every student who joins me. By guiding students through a practice that incorporates breath and movement, students create a space for centeredness, acceptance, healing, and community. Within the framework of class, I inspire students to lean into their own intuitive movement and power.

I received my 200 hour training from hOMe yoga in Mahwah, New Jersey and an additional 300 hour certification from Laughing Lotus, NYC. As a registered 500 hour instructor, with additional hours in children’s yoga and a certification in restorative yoga, I lead classes, workshops, and trainings throughout the area.

Sydney is a Digital Content Manager for Frequency Breathwork, breathwork guide, 500-hour yoga instructor, and perpetual student who purposefully explores the interplay between mind, body, and spirit. She continually studies the scientific undercurrent of spirituality, how our minds and behaviors are shaped by both awareness and experience, and the ways in which holistic practices can support and enhance emotional, energetic, physical, and psychological well-being. She is privileged to be able to hold space for others to become embodied, connect back to their true nature, nurture their nervous systems, and cultivate individual and collective healing. As a breathwork facilitator and yoga teacher, she creates a container to tune back into authenticity, childlike innocence, curiosity, intuitive wisdom, and Self. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Franklin & Marshall College, PA and earned her Master of Arts degree in Psychology and Education with a concentration in Spirituality and Mind-Body Practice at Columbia University, NYC.

maria - yoga

Maria Salvatore

Maria's yoga practice has provided a source of balance and inspiration during phases of change, challenge, and self-study. To her, yoga is an earnest companion for growth that is both physical and mental – both are pathways for an initiation to openness, compassion, and mindfulness. “My primary intention is to help people learn to heal themselves.” In late childhood/early adulthood she was plagued by anxiety, depression, addiction, body image issues, and broken relationships—these experiences led her to heal and transform mind, body, and soul. She experienced it as “alchemy.” Says Maria, “I had a chemical reaction to the first yoga class I took some 16 years ago (2002). So much so that many years later, I changed my career, my mothering, the people I surround myself with, my analyst, my diet, and the way that I saw myself… I did not plan to become a yoga instructor, but it was an organic result of my urge to honor and teach this practice, wherever it takes me.”
From her hometown of River Vale she has been teaching happiness, awareness, and joyful living. Maria has devoted her life to inspiring others to be themselves. Maria has extensive knowledge and education in health and fitness, anatomy, and holistic nutrition. However, she believes that inner work is most rewarding. She sees that everyone has the potential to feel contentment, and she uses asana as a tool to guide her students towards inner peace. She uses her boundless enthusiasm and a realistic approach to challenge as a way to connect. When she is not in the yoga studio, you can usually find her walking her Chesapeake Bay Retriever, riding horses with her daughter, or spending time at home with her husband, two cats, and three stepchildren.
Maria gives thanks to all her yoga teachers and students. In addition to her 500 RYT- yoga certification which includes Y12SR- Yoga for Addiction and Recovery, Yoga Barre, Yin Yoga Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Ayurveda. She is also certified in group fitness AFFA and is a personal training corrective exercise specialist (NASM, CPR-AED).
