Acupuncture Promotes Natural Healing and Balance
Acupuncture in New Jersey
Acupuncture, rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, has a rich history dating back thousands of years. In the United States, it is commonly used as an alternative or complementary approach to healthcare. While not considered a primary treatment for medical conditions, acupuncture can be the key to achieving optimal health and wellness.
The essence of acupuncture lies in balancing the flow of Qi, the life force, through meridians or pathways in the body. These meridians can be likened to highways, starting in the hands or feet and extending throughout the body. By using acupuncture points as gateways, the flow of energy is brought back into balance, promoting healing and well-being.
Carleen’s acupuncture services are offered in a personalized and private room setting. During the initial consultation, lasting one hour, a treatment is administered. Subsequent follow-up sessions, which last 45 minutes, continue to focus on the individual’s unique needs and progress.
For those seeking accessible and affordable treatment, Carleen also offers Group Acupuncture sessions. The collective energetic field established in a group setting enhances the effectiveness of treatments. Whether it’s auricular acupuncture for anxiety, emotional eating, or smoking cessation, or body and scalp acupuncture for wellness and pain relief, these group sessions provide a supportive environment for healing and balance.
At Body Positive Works, we understand that every person’s journey to health is unique. With Carleen’s expertise, compassionate care, and a commitment to integrating Eastern and Western approaches, our acupuncture services go beyond symptom relief to foster a holistic sense of well-being. Understanding Acupuncture: A Simple Guide to Its Benefits and How It Works
Acupuncture is a healing method from Traditional Chinese Medicine. It’s thought that when the body’s energy, or qi, gets blocked, it can cause health problems. Acupuncturists put thin needles into special spots on the body to fix the energy flow and help you heal and relax.
Acupuncture might work by making the body release endorphins, which are chemicals that reduce pain. It could also affect the nervous system, which controls breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure.
People use acupuncture for many health issues like anxiety, arthritis, pain, depression, sleep problems, headaches, nausea, stress, and even skin problems. While some people might feel a bit of pain when the needles go in, it’s usually not too bad. Acupuncture is safe when done by a trained person, but like all treatments, it can sometimes have side effects.
Mostly, acupuncture helps balance the body’s energy and can make you feel better. If you have pain or other health troubles, you might want to try it. Just talk to your doctor first to see if it’s a good idea for you.
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body. It aims to balance the flow of energy, known as Qi, to promote healing and overall well-being.
The majority of people experience minimal to no pain during acupuncture. The needles used are very thin, and the insertion is generally painless. Some may feel a slight sensation, such as a tingling or a dull ache, which quickly subsides.
Acupuncture is considered a safe and non-invasive procedure when performed by a licensed and experienced practitioner. At Body Positive Works, we prioritize hygiene and use disposable needles for each treatment.
Acupuncture is known for its effectiveness in addressing a wide range of health issues, including pain management, stress and anxiety reduction, digestive disorders, insomnia, and more. It complements conventional medical treatments and can be used alongside other therapies.
Acupuncture aims to restore the balance of Qi, the body’s vital energy, which flows through meridians or pathways. By stimulating specific acupuncture points, the energy flow is regulated, promoting healing and improved health.
The number of acupuncture sessions required varies depending on individual needs and conditions. Some people experience relief after just one session, while others may need multiple treatments for lasting effects. Your acupuncturist will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.
During your acupuncture session, the practitioner will first assess your health concerns and medical history. Then, they will insert thin needles into specific points on your body. You’ll typically lie comfortably during the treatment, which can last around 30 to 60 minutes.
Yes, acupuncture can complement other medical treatments and therapies. It is often used in conjunction with conventional medicine to enhance overall wellness and support the body’s natural healing processes.
Acupuncture is suitable for individuals of all ages and can benefit those experiencing various health issues, from physical ailments to emotional imbalances. Whether you seek pain relief or stress reduction, acupuncture can be a valuable addition to your wellness journey.
