More About Grief and Loss

Grief is a natural and universal human experience. It's the emotional response to loss, and it can manifest in a variety of ways—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. At Body Positive Works, we understand the complexities of grief and provide a compassionate space for healing and growth.

While grief is not linear, it often unfolds in stages as we process loss and adapt to a new reality. These stages, as expanded upon by grief expert David Kessler, include:

Denial

Anger

Bargaining

Depression

Acceptance

Finding Meaning

Each stage serves a purpose in the healing process, and it’s common to move back and forth between them as you navigate your unique journey.

When we experience a profound loss, it can feel as though our hearts have been shattered into countless pieces. We may feel overwhelmed by a range of emotions—sadness, anger, confusion, loneliness, and even guilt.

As time passes, these fragmented pieces begin to return, one by one, rekindling a spark of hope within us. With each piece that we reclaim, our hearts begin to mend, forming a beautiful mosaic of memories, love, and resilience.

At Body Positive Works, we offer compassionate support and understanding as you navigate this intricate path. We believe that healing is not about forgetting, but about honoring the love and connection you shared with your loved one. Our grief support groups provide a safe space to:

  • Explore your emotions and experiences
  • Share your stories and memories
  • Find strength and solace in community
  • Discover healthy coping mechanisms
  • Embrace the possibility of healing and growth

Together, we will journey through the labyrinth of grief, finding hope in the beauty of healing and the enduring love that binds us forever.
