Drum Circle with Tommy Hayes Sign upJanuary 25, 2020,
7:30 PM to 10:00 PM
Drum circle experience can bring you many healthy benefits and it is recreational and lot's of fun!
Relaxation, stimulation, meditation, healing and spiritual fulfillment are all part of what you can feel while drumming. Drumming helps alleviate stress within your mind and body, which in turn can help reduce pain as you become more relaxed. It is also a good form of exercise and can leave you in a sense of euphoria. This is all very therapeutic and good for your mental and physical well being. In general, drumming is recreational and lot's of fun! A drum circle can bring rhythm and harmony to its participants and enhance your musical creativity.
There are different styles of drum circles. Some are led by a facilitator, who starts a rhythm and each player joins in finding their place in the beat. Sometimes the drummers play all in sync, other times there can be variations added with the drums and many other types of percussion instruments. Some drum circles are free form, in a sense that most of the drummers play off each others beats. One of the most important parts of a drum circle is for the participants to listen to the rhythm and beat. Once everyone learns to play together there is a feeling of unity. Drum circles also provide energy not only to the drummers but also to those who like to dance to the rhythms. Most drum circles have a space within the center of the circle of drummers left open for dancing. There is never any pressure on anyone as this is a time to relax and create within your own ability.
Refreshments will be provided.
Bring your own drum or rent a drum for use during the circle for $5.

Earth Gong Bath with Marco Dolce Sign upFebruary 2, 2020,
2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
Earth Gong Bath with Gongmaster Marco Dolce
The gong bath is a one hour immersion in sacred and healing sound wherein the gongmaster activates the full sonic potential of the gong and bathes the listener with sustained waves of primordial sound. During a gong bath, listeners typically experience a sense of connectedness and peace as the sacred sound of the gong clears blockages and restores the free flow of vital energy throughout the body. Listeners have also described out of body experiences, seeing beautiful colors behind their eyes, along with symbols, images, and past life impressions. With its ability to induce a spontaneous meditative state, the gong offers listeners access to parts of the mind that are usually closed, resulting in a sense of expanded awareness and higher consciousness. All a listener needs to do is relax and let the sound bathe the body and carry the mind. Gong sound can be used to rebalance and tone the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. It is an excellent therapy for stress related issues, depression, fatigue, anger and hostility, feelings of fear, separation and loneliness, along with many other conditions related to the lack of balance and harmony in the body.
