Drum Circle with Tommy Hayes Sign up

January 18, 2020,
7:30 PM to 10:00 PM

Drum circle experience can bring you many healthy benefits and it is recreational and lot's of fun!

Relaxation, stimulation, meditation, healing and spiritual fulfillment are all part of what you can feel while drumming. Drumming helps alleviate stress within your mind and body, which in turn can help reduce pain as you become more relaxed. It is also a good form of exercise and can leave you in a sense of euphoria. This is all very therapeutic and good for your mental and physical well being. In general, drumming is recreational and lot's of fun! A drum circle can bring rhythm and harmony to its participants and enhance your musical creativity.

There are different styles of drum circles. Some are led by a facilitator, who starts a rhythm and each player joins in finding their place in the beat. Sometimes the drummers play all in sync, other times there can be variations added with the drums and many other types of percussion instruments. Some drum circles are free form, in a sense that most of the drummers play off each others beats. One of the most important parts of a drum circle is for the participants to listen to the rhythm and beat. Once everyone learns to play together there is a feeling of unity. Drum circles also provide energy not only to the drummers but also to those who like to dance to the rhythms. Most drum circles have a space within the center of the circle of drummers left open for dancing. There is never any pressure on anyone as this is a time to relax and create within your own ability.

Refreshments will be provided.

Bring your own drum or rent a drum for use during the circle for $5.

Mini Spiritual Retreat For The Body Mind & Spirit with Karen Dillon Sign up

January 25, 2020,
11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Healthy living includes MIND, BODY, and SPIRIT. This workshop will meld these three modalities and facilitate total self wellness. In the workshop we will use gentle yoga, meditation and private journaling exercises and each student will receive a fresh organic cold pressed juice* to nourish themselves! The goal is that everyone will walk away refreshed and with new tools to support their physical, mental and spiritual well being.

A Testimonial from A Former Participant: "I had the great pleasure of attending Karen’s 2-hour Spiritual Reset Workshop the other night. From the moment you walked into the room you felt a peaceful calm which Karen purposely creates to welcome you in. The lights are low, the music is soft and Karen’s friendly demeanor immediately makes you so happy that you decided to treat yourself to this evening. 'I accept where I am, here and now' was the night’s theme and it was presented in a simple clear manner. Karen had thoughtful questions that she shared prior to the workshop, so when the ideas were presented that evening it all fell into place nicely. She guided us through yoga movements that tied the messages of awareness and acceptance of ourselves to various gentle yoga postures. She also had nicely sequenced 3 meditative mantras for us at the beginning, middle and the end that made you feel calm, peaceful and present. Her workshop was a spiritual reset making you aware of being “present”, in the here and now. It really was a “present” to myself to attend and I would recommend her workshop to anyone that wants to give themselves a spiritual gift. It’s worth your time."
